Greenough Communications seeks a talented Account Executive to “Make Moments” with our dynamic team. We’re a fast-paced communications and brand marketing agency representing brands in the technology, healthcare & life sciences, climate transition, and business services industries.
The Account Executive (AE) role requires strong autonomy, as well as well-developed writing and communication skills. The AE supports multiple client accounts while collaborating closely with account teams and senior staff as needed. The AE takes ownership of specific responsibilities, with the ability to manage and execute projects efficiently, set and meet internal deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities for clients across different industries.
Responsibilities
- The AE position will have the opportunity to learn and deploy a wide variety of brand marketing and communications skills across dedicated account teams.
- Proactively manages day-to-day client responsibilities, developing a deep understanding of each client's business and industry.
- Independently identifies media coverage opportunities, including competitor news and key industry trends.
- Prepares client-facing documents, including media lists, editorial calendars, speaking and awards calendars, and client status reports with minimal revisions from supervisors.
- Consistently produce high-quality internal and external communications content, often under tight timelines and with competing priorities, including media pitches, article abstracts, social media content, and award and speaking submissions.
- Coordinate client touchpoints, helping to set the agenda and provide action-oriented recaps
- Maintains and optimizes internal agency coverage trackers and activity trackers, ensuring updates are flagged to the team and clients in real-time.
- Engages with senior team members to ensure alignment with account objectives and project timelines.
- Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving traditional and social media outreach plans and owning media monitoring needs to identify and draft insights on relevant news.
- Proposes and meets internal deadlines, managing time across multiple client projects and assuming responsibility for handling client deliverables efficiently.
- Contribute to comprehensive, accurate, and timely industry and coverage monitoring, including thoughtful analysis and feedback on results.
Essential Skills
- 2 - 4+ years of agency experience (or equivalent in-house experience)
- B.A./B.S. or equivalent experience and certifications
- A solid grasp of all basic PR and communications tools and how they are used as well as solid research, writing, and editing skills.
- Should have the ability to develop relationships with media and apply experience and initiative in developing traditional and digital media strategies (i.e., social media).
- Interest and prior experience working in Greenough Communications’ core industries: healthcare, life sciences, technology, climate, or business services
